Finnish m/66 field shirt is made out of 100 % cotton flannel. Most of the shirts being sold at the Finnish Defence Forces' depots are new-old stock and were made in the mid-1990s. The size range available is 50-56. Recommended laundry temperature is 60°C.
The size of the neck opening can be manipulated by using the four buttons. Likewise the cuffs have buttons too. The tail of the shirt is around 5 cm longer in the back than it is in the front.
I have used the shirt over a polypropylene string shirt and under an anorak in -30°C and as a only upper layer in +20°C temperatures. During the summer the shirt is not provide too much insulation and it was fairly mosquito proof apart from the neck opening. Even after three days of continuous use, the shirt did not give off an obnoxious amount of smell.
