Finepix S1800

Just got an S1800, for me its an upgrade from my phones camera and Cannon Powershot. Its a basic phone by todays standards but there are a load of features I've never come across before so any quick tips on getting the best results, ISO speeds etc.

Bear in mind I know nothing about camera's.

Set everything to 'Auto', point it at your subject and hit the tit!

I'm currently using a Finepix S5600 & although it has a lot of options & buttons,( no idea how to use them) I do as bilmo said, set it on auto, press the button to allow it to focus then 'click'....not the best camera in the world but does take reasonable photos from time to time......not too good with close ups though but the video is OK.

Auto will take a gd image if you can spot it. A gd photo is a lot down to the eye of the guy behind the camera. I nearly got one years ago. Start easy on auto then just try using different settings on the same shot. Learn what each thing actually does to your image. That's what I'd do. Mind you I'm back with phone camera now.
