Its been a long cold dry spring here, and things have been really reluctant to get going, but finally this week it is all starting to swing. Asparagus and gooseberries last night, and our polytunnel peas will soon be ready to harvest. Hurrah !

You are way ahead of me 

Yes, we always feel that we are pretty harsh for weather living in the North of England and on top of the Pennines at about 430m above sea level, but of course those in ±Scotland are further North still, and then there is the rest pf Europe with folks like you in even tougher growing conditions. It does make me smile when you hear experts on the radio or TV saying "plant out beans in November and you will have a crop in the early spring". It may work on Norfolk but not up here !
