I think (judging by the bark) it is one of the eucalyptus family, but I am no expert on living trees.
Ta for embedding it btw, can never seem to get that to happen when I post a video.

Nicely done.

Had some trees taken down recently, only < 30 feet or so... and still the managed to wipe out the phone line. Left without saying a thing.

Great viewing, clearly very skilled and what a size that tree was too, a lot of firewood in that (provided it doesn't go for timber for furniture). Thanks for posting :)

Nice bit of tree work. How many people have I heard, "I'll do the ground work" to try and save them a few quid?.

A good team with good groundmen makes difficult jobs like that one a pleasure. Height has never been a problem, fall 50', die. Fall 150' die. Height doesn't make much difference, it's just an optical thing.

Really big trees without many side branches do present mental issues for the climber though. I'm not a Poplar fan, not really a Eucalyptus fan either TBH. But, it's a real buzz being up there.

As a carpenter/joiner I admire people who are really good at what they do especially so when they make it look so easy (when you know in your heart that that is far from the truth).
My only experience of tree surgery or felling was while farming Olives.... most of which were sub 10mtrs but in my early days at it I got that weird feeling that I was like Wile E. Coyote sitting on the wrong side of the branch being cut :yikes:
I also liked the way the whole team worked, they all knew what to do and where to be.

Hope this sizes properly. How many people in the pic?

I took it from another forum where we've been having arguments about it.
