The original Felleskap was the name of a knife model made by Trond Pedersen years ago. Demand asked for some more but Trond didn't want to make them so persuaded his friend Steen Nielson to make some more, hence these being designated as a Felleskap II.

Short answer - the model name. :)

Cheers Stew, is the blade 01-TS?

No it's not. I couldn't remember what though and had to do some searching!

In Trond's words:
The steel is Øberg (1,2% carbon) This is the steel Steen uses in all his blades, also in the laminated and damascus blades.

A bit confusing! :D A bit of a translation issue on his keyboard, I think.

I can't see the steel mentioned on his website... http://www.smie.no/engelsk.htm but will do some more searching!!

That is a tempting knife.Very pretty indeed but swmbo says I'm not allowed any more knives until I
have finished the Dave Budd blade I bought.Still can't choose the wood for the handle.
Bump anyway.
