February Flowers

Harvestman, I can't wait any longer for you to start this month's thread - look what I found on Monday coming back from Glen Coe ...

Sat in the station at Crianlarich this was pressed against the window of my carriage! Rhodo budding in Feb? In the Highlands ??? !!! A bit touched by he frost admittedly but ... ???

We have snowdrops, dwarf iris, crocus and wood anemeone at the moment. Daffs wont be long.

Hazel, I think, but to be honest I took so many catkin pictures that day I've lost track.

Back here in Hereford we have the last of the snowdrops, winter aconites, first primroses, early daffs just about to open, viburnum flowering, catkins (hazel and willow), a bit of dead nettle (I think). And the pot marigolds are working up to flowering even! bluebell coming up but no flowers (thank the gods).

Our first Daffs have flowered and died away and theres a fresh lot coming out now.

Found a new woodland (to me, anyway) yesterday. No camera with me, of course, but lots of Lesser Periwinkle Vinca minor in flower in the wood. That's a new one to me, and I had to look it up afterwards. lovely to see a blue flower so early.
