Taking the thread a little off topic, would it be easier to just set up a load of gates on the track to where the kit is stored if it is heavy duty equipment ?.
Calurix - it's only a compact tractor we're getting because it's just a 9 acre market garden that I manage. Unfortunately the lane is shared so I can't gate and lock it.
It looks like NFU mutual are going to dictate the security - datatagging, good chains and anchors and an immobiliser will reduce the premiums on the insurance enough to justify the upfront cost.
Thanks to all for the advice. It's something that needs to be right from the start so I've been asking a few folk for input.
