Walked Fan Gyhirych and Fan Nedd yesterday evening. Weather was mostly dry with the odd shower with the summits covered in fog which came in heavier at nightfall. A cold North Westerly wind meant I could try out some new gloves and army goretex overmittens. I practiced a lot of night navigation, making a few mistakes, usually by following a sheep track in the wrong direction. Compass work really has to be spot on when viz is so low that you cannot make out any defining feature on the landscape. Really enjoyable walk, though, and I had to stop off on my way home to visit the ancient standing stone, Maen Llia.
