Hi Tee Dee, I'm a photographer, so i am aware of these products, but haven't tried them. Haven't heard of any problems though, so why don't you just search for some on-line reviews?
The following site is generally acknowledged as being one of the best of it's type, and gives it a "mixed" review...

I have read a review of one in Amateur Photographer. Appearently they are pretty good considering there is nothing else on the market that does this.

They did say you should check the site to see if your camera is compatable. I'll see if I can find the review and scan it in for you.
