After a bit of thought Ive decided to just ask if you could share with us all the fav bits of kit...?

the question is a bit tricky as if you ask everyone for ten items the chances of there being enough simularity for a basic list is limited!

this is my "outdoor activity list(for things like hiking camping climbing ect)

my "bushcrafty sort of kit is this:(you have to immagine webbing pouches picture)

but i also use a vest, chest webbing and just two belt pouches(even my kit changes!)

Pouch contents (13/01/03):
(Front to back then left to right as seen)

1) Front 1st - Lock knife, sharpener, Firesteel flint, LED Lenser torch, (in a orange mesh bag, each has a luminous orange bead).
2) Back 1st - Suunto compass, heliograph, whistle, tip card, silk escape map (in an black mesh bag each has a luminous pink bead).
3) Front 2nd - Turbo flame, Matchless fire kit, w/p matches, sponopener, spoon. (In an orange mesh bag each has a luminous yellow bead).
4) Back 2nd - Wire saw, brass wire, purse net, fishing kit, (in black vinyl pouch).

5) E-tool pouch: 58 water bottle, Milbank bag (underneath).
6) Utility pouch: mess tin, rations, aide memoir, notebook, matches, and personal effects.
7) E-tool pouch: 58’ Water bottle, metal mug.
8) First aid box.
9) Prismatic compass, FFD.

M.O.D. survival knife in sheath can be worn between pouches 8-9 (otherwise in backpack).

A basic 44' style crossover yolk could be set up for extended use.

Other seasonal items not listed: Head net, Bug juice.

Basha kit and other spares kit should be carried in a side pouch or PLCE patrol pack or to belt "D" rings.

A cord and "mini biner is available for each pouch to attach any item with a ring whilst in transit, or in use.

Before I began using traser glowrings I used a few glow in the dark beads I nicked from my daughters bead kit. I find the traser glowrings a lot better.

Where do you get the luminous beads ?

2p each about 7 different colours!

they are in the art & craft section of a department store in norwich called "Jarrolds".

i chose standard round beads but they do hearts, stars, and oblongs too!

i found them by chance when making a necklace with my 2 year old son for my wife(she loved it) whilst picking "nice colours" i noticed some had that pale lime colour i associate with luminous things, so i put some in my hand and took a look!
like jewels they were, presious jewels! :-D

i used to go on a US "Survival" site, and it was all "BOB's","spare ammo", "more ammo" and "spare more ammo"! :lol:

Hmmm...when i go out for a couple of days,
the only thing that stay's pretty much the same is my food bag:

- dutch white coffee
- more coffee
- brown sugar
- milkpowder
- two fresh eggs
- chocolade
- hartkeks or custom musli bread :-?
- sometimes serials (?), nuts, dry fruits
- cheese or salami (no pemmikan or beef jerkey please! jakkes!)
- sambal manis or chili sauce
- ikan teri (sweet spicy dried fish)
- dry onions
- mihoen
- pancake flower
- salt
- olive oil
- stock cubes

O, and a small 'skinner' for under the stars...to go with the brew :wink:
