Not bushcrafty, just an early morning hike. It's amazing what you miss when you drive everywhere. I live in Harrow, a London suburb that is steadily being urbanised by Londons fast growing population. So it was pleasant to find a new path to walk.
A 15 minute walk from home, And it's like being out in the country. I came across a bridleway that stradles George V avenue, the other day, and decicded to give it a go this morning. The route took me through Pinner, which still keeps the feel of a village. The Queens Head and the Victory were old haunts of mine many years ago, although the Victory is now a Zizi restaurant.
6.30am to 8am and 6 miles, it was a perfect time for a walk, cool and quiet.
Here's some pics.

You can just make out the spire of St Mary's on Harrow in the Hill to the south

Nice pics. It is what the green belts are for :) They were established right after the war after the new labour government told the major cities to get on with it as part of a way of bringing the excesses of ribbon development under control. I think Leeds didn't comply. But most others, esp Manchester and London, were super keen

My favourite haunts when I was down that way were ruislip lido, rickmansworth aquadrome (and the canals running through round there) and cassioberry park.

It is London and surrounding areas can be surprisingly green.

Oxleas and Jack Wood get a mega thumbs up from me. I haven't been to Eltham Park for years, nay decades! A wonderful place for having a little bit of a forage for chestnuts during the Autumn. A terrific view over London to the west and a stones throw from Greenwich!
