I bought a nice quality leather belt in a charity shop today, thing it is it was white, which is not really what I consider a bushcraft colour.
I went into the local timpsons and bought a bottle of shoe leather dye in dark brown, but having used close to the whole bottle the belt is still something of a very light tan.
Am I on a hiding to nothing because the belt was likely treated with something that inhibits the take up of the dye or should I just keep on applying it until I get the desired effect?
I know I have been a bit controversial of late, I hope this post is not going to create any difficulties that way. White may be perfectly acceptable in Scandinavia, if I were wearing a white snow smock but I do prefer something that does not look like I am on the catwalk.
