Dyeing Epic cotton (Bergans Morgedal smock)?

I have the Bergans Morgedal smock, which I'd like to dye OG using a machine wash dye, such as Dylon. Has anyone tried dyeing this smock or anything else made from Epic cotton? My concern is that the silicon encapsulation might mean the cotton won't take the dye. Any thoughts?

I don't know, but I think your concern is correct ~ it might dye but (from their site) ...

Just true cotton comfort that repels everything from water to red wine.

Might be worth asking nextec?

I think you'd have to remove the very properties that make this Epic cotton, with all it's advantages, to get the dye to take; and if you go down the road of dyes that need high temperatures and suchlike you'll do the fabric no good at all.

Yeah, figured as much. I've asked the manufacturers if the smock and the fabric, so I'll see what they say.
