Dutch army goretex parka

I've just ordered a grade 1 Dutch army goretex parka from Endicotts - anyone else got one of these? I got fed up of getting cheap jackets sold as waterproof that couldn't even stand up to showers, so I wanted a goretex jacket and with my budjet surplus is the only way I'll get one

Just hoping I made the right choice now what do you guys think of them?

I don't have one. Dutch kit is meant to be, by-and-large, very good. I will be interested as to how you find it. Maybe a short review might be in order?

Do you mean the three layer one IDO?
the one with detachable fleece and goretex liners - if so, yup, pretty good IMO.
You can remove the liners to make it lighter for spring/summer use.
I had one for years and it proved pretty much bomb-proof.

You've made the right choice. It is bombproof and comfortable.

I got one from Endicotts and it is absolutely brilliant. The outer layer is a poly-cotton material so it is quiet. They are cut for tall skinny people however (like most Dutch) so I hope that is going to suit you. Kevin is very good at checking this out when he works out what size you are. Go for the matching trousers to - amazing quality

Well, it arrived today and I'm very happy with it. It's warm enough without being too hot and fits perfectly. Not tried its waterproof qualities yet but I'm happy so far!

yea, had one of those for a while ,got it grade 2 and its still got loads of life in it.
lives in the car and gets used and abused anytime the weather goes tishy. good bit of kit.
