Has anybody done the bronze, silver or Gold Duke of Edinbourgh award?

I am currently doing the Gold award at my 6TH Form. can't wait for the expedition

I am a DofE Expedition Asssesor and a bit fed up that they close the season until the end of March!!! Luckliy my main "job" is an Explorer Scout Leader, we have our own rules, and are running a 2 day "Fun Expedition" in the Ashdown Forrest booked for February so that should be good

I want to get out more on my own little expeditions but i live in an area of little woodland and I cant drive yet so Im grounded for the time being

Im really looking forward to get some carving done too - But no knife yet

At your age we used to go on practice hikes in the Grater London area and stay at other Scout HQs. Once its dark any strange place is right for some kind of mini-adventure, even if it does mean sleeping under a portakabin

PS Don't offer to carve the turkey if you get a knife for Christmas, parents get funny about that kind of thing :Wow:
