I used lanolin currently my fave rejuvenating compound for anything & everything, I even look 10 years younger myself

NB - Care softening the shoulder straps as too soft and the "Sam Browne" type studs pop out too readily :-(

I do like the vintage feel and the the fact that they are so robust and flexible. I like Frosts River too but sold my kidney to get a new axe so I can't have one SWMBO told me and these have a similar feel at massively reduced cost!

Hey, I've got some parts I salvaged off a NOS m39 pack a while ago. No shoulder straps but the short axe straps and some of the other leather details.

Theyre 'new' fairly untreated leather.
I could check if they're supple enough and pop them in the mail for you. PM me if you're interested.
