I've noticed a change in the types of tv programmes shown over the last few years.

There has been a massive shift from DIY, home makeover and property ladder style programmes to home cooking, self sufficiency promoting and animal rearing type programmes.

Is the government acutely aware that the country is sliding into a massive depression, and therefore encouraging us to be aware of a more self sufficient lifestlye to better help ourselves when the time comes?

Or is it just coincidence?

Or has it always been the same but you notice what you are "into" at the time ??

It`s like when you buy a certain make of car you suddenly notice there are LOADS of them on the road.

I think the media are following the fads but hey, I like a good conspiracy theory.

To be honest I really don't think that conspiracy theories can hold their water if there are more than three people involved.

I don't own a tv so I couldn't possibly know. I do notice people not previously interested that are taking an interest in what I get up to now though.

I wouldn't get out the tin foil hat just yet....We have a heap of those cooking, lifestyle, self sufficency shows on over here as well... Hang on they are all British...Right crack out the Alcan.....
