So far I am informed, the British army shelter sheets are made out of nylon / polyamide and coated with silicone.

The similar made Hilleberg tents did not degrade by aging yet although produced since 40 years.

Are British army bashas made in the same extremely durable quality?

I have my british army basha that was issued to me during my service in 1997 and I still use it today. There is no change to its condition at all as best as I can tell. I have had it about 24 years and I don't know hold old it was before it got issued to me.

It all depends on the actual materials used. There are PAs that degrade fast in sunlight, some do not. There are silicones that can't take sunlight and there are ones that can.

What do you mean with flaking?
Does the coating fall off?
Is that an MTP or DPM pattern basha?
