If it's outside the EU you will be charged VAT plus £8 handling.

I googled them and they are in Wisconsin, USA, so yes you will be charged.

what’s this company like to deal with? Do you pay import charges?

I've used them, they were very good, took photos of the other side of the knife for me (had figured wood scales), well packaged, quickly delivered, insured, but boy oh boy what an import/duties fee!
