Hey, more woodworking than Bushcraft (I think), but has anyone here got (or used) an axe made by Svante Djarv? I've heard many sing praises about his spoon knives but I was wondering what people made of his axes? I think they look great, I really love the handles on all the Djarv tools.
I'm going to have to go to Sweden one day...

I taught a lathe building course at the National Handcraft school in Sweden and fell in love with a Svante Djarve broad axe they have there. Using it alongside the 4 or 5 GB broad axes convinced me I did not want one of those, I have only used the one axe and whilst that one seemed sublime to me they are likely to vary. I like his handles too...his hook knives are OK but not the best I prefer Del Stubbs at pinewood forge but the best by far is Bo Helgesse.
Go to Sweden it is great...iif you have money I would recommend doing a course at http://www.saterglantan.se/eng/index.htm if you don't it can be done reasonably cheap with ryan air flight and youth hostels + camping

Am I right in thinking the Bo Helgesson spoon knives have a metal handle (as an extension of the blade) ?

And thanks for that kind offer big swede, though it may come back to haunt you when I get my act together :D
