Did I see a Hawfinch?

It's plumage is brown
It had a broad black beak
It's wings had flashes of blue
It was in the Little Marlow (Buckinghamshire) area

I wish I could have taken a photo but I was driving, saw enough of it to be able to remember what it looked like. It did look like a hawfinch, except it's beak seemed blacker, and it's wing tips seemed bluer that any of the photos I have seen on google.

Quite possibly, the broad black beak would be the main thing to distinguish it from a chaffinch which would look similar.

Thanks, pretty pleased to see one of them on my drive in this morning. I must admit, my offices are in quite a nice location. I see red kites, kestrels, partridges, all sorts. Just a shame I then sit inside and miss everything else outside.
