They are very nice, but guys, damascus and japanese folded blades are folded to create edges in the tens of thousands, not 65.

Not all the time, theres many differning techniques for making damascus and samurai swords, some samurai swords are soft metal folded once over a harder metal which acts as the edge, on some the hard metal doesn't even continue all the way back to the spine.

Indeed, but you don't think that every one is made the same way as the swords generals get do you?

Theres several differing techniques, if you get the chance to read
The Complete Bladesmith by Jim Hrisoulas it shows quite a few:)

That book is fascinating and in my eyes, worth every penny.

Some don't even have the harder metal in the centre and just have it wrapped around the softer core in a kind of J shape so its still there at the cutting edge.
