Czech army bedroll bivvy question

I wanted to waterproof my Czech bivvy bag... But at the last minute, I thought twice as it might cause more condensation... Affect breath ability.
has anyone else tried or encountered problems? My previous bivvy bag was totally airtight and used to get condensation build up.
i noticed last week when the weather was really damp and cold it was damp to the touch. I was thinking if Greenland wax?

When I first got mine I treat it to some nikwax I did not notice any extra condensation but I always had it slightly open aways, it did keep off a light shower of rain with out leaking so I was happy. But once it get colder and damper like now I have better sleep systems so it does not get used now.
