Custom hilltrek ventile poncho

Just ordered a hilltrek ventile poncho, i asked the lady if she could make the length a couple of inches smaller on both sides as im only 5ft6 and it looked quite long, anyone any experience with the poncho? and how good it is used as a tarp

Odd choice of material for a tarp/poncho....be interested to hear how you get on with them.
