Cumbria Outdoor Volunteer Work

Hi all - looking to pick few brains about volunteer work in Cumbria/lake district in between contract work, to jazz up the CV.

Anything outdoorsy, involving training or helping out and training kids or conservation work would be great - does anyone know of any organisation looking for help?

Done DofE up to Gold so have considered helping out with that - you get the kind of thing i'm looking for!

Would appreciate anything/everything you've got for me, contacts, websites - the lot.

I would try BTCV or the National Park Authority. I'm sure that they would be pleased to accept volunteer helpers for conservation work.

There used to be a BTCV van that parked round the corner from here in Carlisle so there must be a local department of it, worth a try anyway.

Scouts are always on the look out for new people...either as Leaders or activity instructors.

the wildfowl and wetland trust sometimes use volunteers, don't know if there's one up your way though.
