Good use of the 2nd cup.

With 3D printers abound must be alot easier to get some lids printed.

I find using the 2nd cup this way gives you more options uses less space than storing a lid

Yep - And my comment wasn't criticism , even two cups with hot brews will stay hotter , longer with lids. But you do you , just an observation that sometime ago ( years ) it was difficult to find crusader lids whilst now someone could easily print one

Glad your system works for you.

Well if it works , then it works, but doesn't look very stable?
I've just bought some stainless mess tins as I think it will be easier and more stable to put the bags in, at an angle of course. No printer so I'll bash out a lid for them.

The small primus gas stove works well out on the moor or in areas with no trees , the mugs are pretty stable as I've not managed to knock any over yet.
Mess tins are too wide for such a small stove.
I have some Dutch stainless tins I use on open fires where they are quite good

Mmm, interesting, I've never had a lot of success with those stoves.
Yes, I wouldn't use the tins on a primus either. I'm not keen on anything on a primus! (I've made too many mistakes in the past)
I'll probably use the hexy stove, and play around with a few other more stable stove options I've got.
