Hickory helve has been well treated with boiled linseed and scraped back to give a nice satin finish.
Pommel / palm swell has been shaped properly and the harsh corners knocked off to get rid of the hot spots.
Council Tools however make THE best off the peg axe handle available, significantly better than store bought and overpriced Scandinavian brands.
The head steel is also an improvement on the usual, as they have chosen a higher grade 5160 and heat treated it to perfection, edge AND poll!
