That Steve Rinella bloke from my earlier posting, http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67609, cooks and eats a racoon. The more I see this guy on Youtube, the more I like him.
His Travel Channel program (appart from the epileptic camera work) looks pretty OK to me but I don't know if it's available over here.

Gotta say...I just do not recommend eating any roadkilled animal...unless it happened right in front of you.OTOH, raccoon is excellent meat and tastes a bit "porky"...er..."pork-ish"?

And if you're in the UK, you can't legally pick up your own roadkill...it's fine to take it if it was hit in front of you though.
I once had roadkill cow...just like top gear. All the better for being free.

Are you licensed for that? You do know the laws surrounding the protection of badgers act I presume.

I'm a little confused as Badgers are a protected species so I assume you are refering to roadkills...which in law is illegal as the use, transportation & commerce of a protected species & parts thereof is forbidden ( I suppose though there are relevant licences available)

I've eaten roadkill rabbits in the past, I used my nose though to test their edibility, if it turned my stomach the dog got it, if I didn't wretch, it was mine.

I'd think I'd file their idea under "Hasn't thought it through".
There would also be serious uproar from the viewers, unless they're trying to court controversy as per most media nowadays.

Might be an idea if the cull goes ahead though - TB Burgers.
