The Esbit is anodised, fairly thick Aluminium, whereas the AsaKlitt is thin, non anodised, Al. I must admit that I haven't even tried to cook an egg in it, because thin Al always has hot spots and eggs stick to them. You could probably heat up a can of beans without burning, but you had better stir. Scrambled eggs? I doubt it. I do';t take eggs hiking, but if car camping, I would probably make a freezer bag omletteif using this kit. Although, if car camping i would have a seasoned cast iron skillet, so the question wouldn't arise
I hike, in mountains, so I Freezer bag cook using a cosey, most of the time. I would only take the Asaklitt if in a group including kids, because, like the Trangia 25, it is very stable and not so easily knocked over by a rampaging teen.
