Anyone know where I can get or who makes something to connect two trekking poles together?
So I can leave my Shangri-La 3 centre pole at home .... saving me 390g

I know Black Diamond do something ( A webbing strap, doubled at the ends to form cups which hold the handles, then has velcro straps to wrap around the poles) It worked well so I've heard but I just can't locate one.

Could you not make something out of a bit of plastic overflow pipe ?

Or maybe source a nice bit of Hazel on your travels

I like the Hazel idea but I can't be sure I'll have that resource available every time I stop.

I'll make something to do the job no doubt.

Cheers!

I think the easiest method would be to have two walking poles that have unscrewable bottoms, then you take a top sleeve/section from an old pole and cut the handle off and use this to join the two poles together. The fit would be tight and strong and would be ideal. It just means carrying an extra pole section, no big deal really.

which type of poles do u have, cause if they unscrew at the bottom leaving a threaded hole you could use a small piece of threaded rod or if it leaves a threaded rod piece you could by a nut connector (a long nut) both can be got from your local hardware shop
or small piece of copper pipe to make a sleeve.
