Combining water purification treatments

Hi guys,

Im am looking for a water purifier that will treat everything, including chemicals and polutants from pesticides and factorys etc. as well as viruses. At first I was going to go for the First Need XL - treats everthing as far as I can tell. Downsides are cost, weight and cartridge life (just 300 gallons.

So next I thought about combining the MSR Miniworks EX - treats everything minus the viruses, with Aquamira Drops (chlorine dioxide) - which treats the viruses.

What I need to know is if the MSR will negate the effect of the chlorine dioxide, (the MSR apparently removes chemicals including chlorine).

What if I used the chlorine dioxide before / after the MSR? Would this make a difference? Can the viruses re-awaken?
