Coleman Canyon 6 tent

Hi all, basically just seen this tent http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?ProductID=1060

Mums placing an order as i am writing this, and its my hard earned cash going on it, looks to be a fantastic bit of kit for the price and reviews look really good and it looks quality.

BUT, i have brought this on a whim, and need some reassurance that it is upto the job, to give you an idea of the tent we was using before here is a link http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3408551.htm

Anyway, the tent we have is terrible, worst thing we ever brought, i just want to know that forking out for the coleman will be better.

I would have spent more but we are getting a tipi next year

Why do you need a 6 man tent?

Had a coleman 2 man tent, well still got it but don't use it anymore, for a few years and it has done well and never leaked and stood up in some reasonably strong winds. So they are a good make as far as I can tell.

coleman tents are good value - obviously you can get better tents, but not for that money. i had a coleman columbus 6 that served me and the missus well for 4 years until we had to upgrade to something bigger due to the tribe expanding!
for 90 quid, you can't really go wrong, and world of camping are a good site - i got my royal montpellier 12 from them last year, and the service was excellent
i predict you'll be very happy with it - especially compared to the 'christmas cracker' tent you've been using up to now!!!!
test-pitch it in the garden before you use it to familiarise yourself with the ins and outs, and let us know how you get on with your first trip

Usually if i was on my own, it would be hammock and tarp, or a one man tent i have, or if was out with a mate it would be a two man tent. I have so many tents its unreal

But with the Dogs and whatnot, needed a bigger tent.

i know what you mean about tents - SWMBO didn't like my little 2 man coz she couldn't sit up in it, so i'm looking for another one. so my 2-man is now my 1-man, my mate is buying my 1-man, and i need a 3 or 4 man to pass as a 2-man! the loft is full of tents and gear already!!

Understand now. thought it was just for yourself and your kit

Bare in mind that a 6 man tent is only really a 4 man tent by the time you add a couple of rucksacks and equipment etc.
