Clever Leather Plait

Can anyone tell me how to do that clever leather weave/plait where the leather strip is intact at the ends and slits are cut along the length to provide the bits to weave?
I've seen it used on woggles.

If anyone could tell me the name of what it is I'm on about I would be grateful as I could probably find it on google.

I used to have a woogle made that way..... lost it though
