I have been using one of these for the past few years for general and out and about water usage as I will not buy bottled water, not in this country, but it works and is inexpensive;

And the inevitable Youtube test between similarities ;

Now Clear2Go boasts it removes Giardia and Cryptosporidium and given it's design application, that of something to replace the plastic bottled water, well for two years now I have been using them and have no complaints and the one I have yeah the rubber is breaking down I am told, but it still removes the chlorine taste from water, so I guess it is still working.

Now I only use it for drawing water from taps wherever they may be, but I have recently used it to draw water from a lowland river with no ill effects, as to what that is saying who knows, but it would be useful for someone to provide some useful feedback on these inexpensive filters as to how they compare to the more expensive filters, as does clean safe water need to cost so much as to prevent many from buying?

There was a video I consulted prior to buying this filter featuring the filter being used in a more inhospitable environment, that of drawing water out of an African river, but the video I canot find anymore.
