A friend on another Forum put me onto these:

Ordered another 36x freeze dried meals

(I sampled one of each spagbol, chillie and chicken tikka ) can't complain they are past bbe but we all know how long freeze dried stuff lasts if stored right all in thick mylar packets and all was passable as food

£1.83 a portion delivered. I can't complain at that price

Thanks for the tip on these. I ordered a box yesterday and they came today, so I sampled the chicken tikka massala for lunch and the pasta bolognese for dinner.
The packs are pretty slim, which is usually not a good sign - in my experience, the less bulky the pack, the more likely you end up eating something the texture of baby food. But they weren't as bad as I feared from that point of view. Both contained something reminiscent of meat, though not much in either. The tikka massala in particular is pretty much just rice in a sauce thickened with milk powder and soya. Flavour-wise, the tikka massala is a bit artificial-tasting, and the bolognese is very bland, but neither is unpalatable. I imagine the bolognese might even be enjoyable with some extra flavouring added.
They tasted markedly inferior to their equivalents from Summit To Eat, so I wouldn't buy these by preference at full price.
The packs are all 600 calories and around 150 grams. They don't contain an oxygen absorber, so might not keep as well as other brands that do.
