Cheers,

Speak to Eric Methven, I'm pretty sure he makes the kiln for his own charcoal making.
Wonder if he'd organise a course?

Cheers,
Toddy

A friend of mine had his made by a chap called pip some where in norfolk, I will ask him if he still has the details

Cheers guys, will follow up :)
When i finally get one, I will be holding demo's and training sessions, I will post details when sorted.

Just e-mailed a friend who used to have them made. I'II see what he says.
If you know what you want or had a picture you would do better to go to a local engineers fabricator and have them make one up and deliver to you. Transport for these things isn't always easy. If its for a have a go session then a 45 gallon drum burn is quite fun and can be burnt in a day. The larger the more time it takes to burn.

One option to get you started would be to adapt Kimboko's idea beg or borrow say 6 to12 45 gallon drums to start with that should give you a reasonable output I would imagine lots of places would be only too happy for you to remove any drums they had laying around.
Dave.

Below is a link to some pics when I attended a course a few years back....it was amazing, a smoking kiln in a glade early morning as the suns first rays shine through the canopy is such a site....almost looks like an alien spaceship landing lol, I did not catch such a site with the camera unfortunatly :( but theres a few shots of it there worth having a nose over :)

We currently use an oil drum set up, but we want to be able to do a big burn, regularly. Hold demonstrations and training events. We did an earth burn back at the end of last summer which was amazing, but the yield of useable charcoal wasn't that great, apart from wanting to sell a bit on, we also want to be able to give it away at our events as an educational/promotional thing. I have some good photo's but il'e have to transfer them across to my laptop to get on here.

Nice one. Can I ask you where you ordered it from, and how much? I'm after a more permanent one as the oil drums are OK, but don't do the quantities I'll be needing.
