xylaria

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
Chanterelles love the rain supposedly, so it should be a bumper crop.
What type of soil were they growing on?
I have no interest in the location and I fully understand why you dont want it public knowlegde.

They were growing in a mixed woodland and i would say a well drained acid soil

Thank you, it gives me hints as to where I should foray for them around where i live.
Merthyr mawr should be well drained acid soil as well. I have been looking up rare dune fungi today, swatting up what might be found. Most of the species that are specfic to dunes are saprophitic rather than mycorhizal i have found out.
