ceps me thinks

found these nice little felas to night i think thay are ceps (boletus edulis)

yep shore is they are popping up all round the site I'm having a job to consume them all(shame to let um go to waste)

look like ceps, or maybe young brown birch boletus.

If there are grey/black flecks up the stem then they are most likely brown birch. Also if you cut them, if after a few minutes they go pinkish then thats another sign they are brown birch.

Ceps tend to be a slightly redder brown on the cap but they certainly look more like ceps.

Definately edible though....just depends whether they taste OK or amazing.

And they dry so well, so if you find a good glut of them, dry some for use later next year when there aren't any about!
