Maybe hang about 6" off the ground :)

They look too small to me, I don't reckon I'd sleep too well for worrying all night.

Get yourself to Crossley Tordoff tomorrow and pick up a couple of climbing rated ones, if you're passing Morley on your way I can lend you a couple tomorrow night.

Take a look at this page to give you an idea about how the load increases as the amount of drop in your hammock decreases. Obviously this page is about lifting with multiple slings but if you invert the diagrams you can see the application.

Your 111kg with a 5degree drop in your support rope could see nearly 600kg per side.

i,ve done the same course,...should have known that really,....lol....

they,re ok for hanging stuff off the ridgeline tho,....

Cheers mate,...

I don't finish work in South Elmsall until 17:45 mate, I won't be getting home until around 18:20 on a good run.

Which side of Ponte are you ? If we don't have any issues at work, and I can get out on time, I could be getting into Ponte around 18:00 if that's any good ?

I know your sorted now but if you get some for the future consider getting a quick-draw, sometimes it works out cheaper than 2 bina's and you get a little piece of webbing that you can look at and think, hmm, not sure what Im gonna do with that

Thats what Ive done

Don't use those. You may not weigh that much but you can exert much more weight on a line by moving or getting into a sleeping bag. Those things are tested using inert static weights, once you start moving, the physical weight exerted will be considerably more. If you weigh only 13 stone, you can exert a 25-30 stone weight as you sit down. It's the same with water resistancy and watches. A watch may be tested to a 50m depth rating, but you can achieve that rating at the surface if you move about swimming. That's why a 30-50m water resistant watch is only considered splash proof.
