Well, good luck to you! Two words of advice, make that three: bug dope, lots! My experience is in Northern Ontario only, but I imagine applies equally to the other provinces. The Mosquitoes and Black Flies can at times be voracious to the point of insanity. My younger brother almost 'lost it' once, the black flies were so bad. Deer flies aren't nearly as numerous but they take a sizable chunk of your skin out when they bit you.
Then there's the undocumented huge swarms of mosquitoes that have been known to carry away new born Moose... Cheers and enjoy.
