camp /field knife in Damascus.W.I.P

Started off with a 4mm 1095 and 15n20 steel Damascus billet, and this knife design.
Total length 250mm, and 38mm at the widest point.

After a while I managed to get this out of it.

Next step is to grind out the profile and get the necessary holes drilled.

After I have resolve some problems with my grinder (I have to replace the bearings for the platen head pulleys) her is an update from the knife.
I have ground the profile and I decide to go with a full flat grind this time, and the necessary holes are drilled.

Ok a little update.
The knife is back from Heat treatment and so far i have clean the knife and shape the scales, now the knife it is ready for a bath in Ferric Chloride.

Wow that’s a stunning looking knife, seriously I love it......
How much for the billet? Have you ever made a Sgian Dubh (knife Black) before? I’ve been working on a design for some time now and was thinking of using San Mai 3 steel but that Damascus steel is just stunning.
Best looking knife I have seen in a long time.

The Damascus billet it is the firestorm pattern from Randy Hass from the HHH knifes in USA.
No i have not make that kind of knife blank yet, but i will like to try to make one someday.
