Bushcraft Girl - Solo 7 day Alps - Done! - pics (video and more pics to come)

Well that was truly a tremendous experience.

Rain for 5,5 days of the 7 but no worries. Sun was there when I needed it.

Awesome landscapes. Great terrain puzzles with some truly steep stuff involved.

LOTS of stone!

Some snow... amazing sunsets...

(This one is from the Birkkarspitze...my bedroom for the night in 2700m...)

Video to follow...

Well I did declare that I would be kickin' the most awesome party at the hut/shed on the summit ridge of the Birkkarspitze in 2700m/9000ft in the Alps on Sunday night.

7 - count em - SEVEN people showed up and slept in that shack. Best sundowner EVER.

One guy showed up who had run the Mont Blanc Ultra (119km and 7000m vert) in 28 hours. He was 68.
He was walking over the Alps from Munich to Venice with his buddy. Buddy who had spent years of his life in the Himalaya exploring unknown peaks. Amazing company. They were a riot.

And 4 boys who were there to learn. Taking it all in like the young vibrant sponges they are. Awesome to see it. Gives me some hope for the future.

I was honored to share the sunset with them

Got it, thanks. Planning three days away later this week and no way Ill get the weight near yours this time but certainly something to aim for and consider what you really need on a trip and how light you can make what you do need.
