Hi,

Anyone have any idea where I would find Bushcraft courses in New Zealand similar to those of Backwoods or Woodsmoke?
Company called Wild earth is the only one I have found so far!

Any help very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Nyanja :lmao:

Thanks for that, looks like I may be working in Wellington for a bit so won't have time to do a course here - may have the joy of going to play in the Landsborough in the future :)

cheers

Hi,
Ive been looking for about 3 years for a decent cse, but nothing really of note.
MSC run bushcraft cses but they arnt really bushcraft more camping for beginners.

Even the more advanced cses dont appear to be true bushcraft (depending on what you consider bushcraft to be). The best stuff I have done has been with friends of friends who still live off the bush.

I'll have another look and let you know.

Lucky Devil! I'm not a city boy at all but if I had to live in one, Wellington would be it.

Hi,

Here's a link to the MSC courses down here. There's actually one called BUSHCRAFT.

SARINZ (Search and Rescue) also do some interesting courses including one on tracking and clue awareness (handy if you're a hunter!).

Wellington eh.... You'll be able to practice your earthquake preparedness too! ;)

DoC will help you out with specific info on where you plan to go exploring (assuming it's public conservation land).

I'm in Oamaru if you're ever down this way. "Hi" to the rest of the NZ bunch out there.

Cheers,

Jamie
