burning small pieces of wood on a crusader stove

With all the talk of small stoves and dedicated wood burning stoves (I know these will burn wood better)

BUT
for lightness and quickness has anyone got any experience of buring wood on a hexi stove to add to the fuel or on a crusader stove.

Just thinking of trying this next trip out because I always carry a hexi stove with me and generally pefer these and thinking something like a honey stove is still just a stove a container for fuel.

Every day after school we used to burn twigs on them.....happy days

takes alot of feeding but works just as well as the USGI stove i use
