I just came across this article from a few days ago, probably a few people have already seen it but it’s incredible really. Found by young girl and her dad, that’s a story they will never forget!


What I find really interesting is the shape and design of some of the axes, I will be very keen to see these once they’ve been interpreted and categorised.

Thanks, but I’m quite aware of that. However, there does seem to be variation in shape. There are several designs of socket axes depending upon geographical location. :encourage:

I’m intrigued by the one in the picture far right as it has a very different shape even to that of a palstave. I could be wrong and it might not even be an axe at all. Lol!
