British Army Issue MTP ECM Bergen Rucksack

Does anyone have any experience of using this item listed on eBay as British Army Issue MTP ECM Bergen?

Apparently they are made with the mesh part to keep the electronics equipment inside cool?

Can also zip on a side pouch on either side to allow an extra 30kg of kit to be carried

It zips completely open so you can get to kit really easily:

No experience at all but I do have the side pouches which are different from the standard PLCE side pockets. I would imagine using either a single large dry bag or series of small ones to hold your kit will make it just as effective. Certainly no drainage issues.

Thanks for the reply my friend. Must admit it’s a tidy looking Bergen and looks just about perfect for what I want. If I get it I will buy a waterproof cover as well in case of rain

I've got the earlier DPM version of this - great pack, its made by PRI. Got normal rocket pouches zipped on and it has loads of space without being too massive a pack. Recommended!

Does the mesh cause you any issues or do you just put a waterproof cover on the Bergen when it rains?

Mine doesn't have so much mesh, so not been a problem. Yes, the PLCE pouches zip straight on.
