i'm in the brecons for a couple of days, anyone online today have any suggestions on the best scenery or features to visit? I know the eastern end but Waterfall and caves would be of interest?????
Hello Bob - that's my old stomping ground. If you want waterfalls, I recommend you have a look around the Penderyn area - Ordnance Survey map sheet 160. Great walking country around there as well, with a healthy variety of landscapes and good foraging potential.
And if you need a good pub, try the Lamb Hotel - grid reference 946089
The Jarrold Pathfinder Guide 'Brecon Beacons and Glamorgan' has a 9 1/2 mile waterfall walk.
On OS landranger 160 there is a nice Waterfall and cave at 929100. If you walk along the River Mellte in this area, there are a number of waterfalls and some nice woodlands.
