brace and bit drills

I was given a load...I have lots more! Since I don't have a brace and bit...Should I be looking for one?

Yup, they are dirt cheap and you see two or three on just about every carboot sale. I wouldn't get the first one you see as a minter is bound to be around the corner, they really are that plentifully available. I stopped myself at two, a modern one with plastic fittings and a old one with wooden that just needed some surface rust polishing off.

If the threades starter part is good you can usually sharpen them with a file.
If that threaded screwlike part is broken off or lost its thread its not worth the effort.
