For those of you who haven't heard of this man before, he set off for a round the world sailing trip with his family in 1972 and sunk after being struck by orcas. The crew of 5 survived 37 days adrift in the pacific and this book is the account of their epic struggle to survive. It's packed with many useful details, and written with the enjoyable style of a layman learning through experience.
Ray Mears referred to the author in his Extreme Survival episode on Sea Survival.
