im going to Wales soon and as usual looking out for skulls and such of rams and deer etc. and hope to find some decent handle making material, but im wondering, can i use bone? i would assume i would have to use a stick tang which would fit in the marrow of that particular bone, so either try several blades and bones or make the blade to fit the bone.
or possibly stacking it on a handle like is done with leather and wood?
if i find a fully decomposed skeleton of a sheep or something i will take as many large bones as i can manage to have a play around with.

Drop Cap'n Badger a PM.... He's quite the dude for things made from bone, horn etc. I'm sure he'll have some good advice :D

I have used stacked disks of bone for knife handles and they work fine. You can also buy Camel bone for knife scales....so i guess that any bone thick enough will work too....

I might give that a try.
Whilst visiting a friends farm I noticed a rams skull by some bushes nice rounded horns on it.
